My fellow coupers,
just a quick note one fuel tank leaks- I worked on jets in the Air Force for about eight years, and I worked on airliners for about seven years. In both cases when we had a fuel leak we used a sealant called PRC. It can be purchased from aircraft spruce (I think- nowadays I just borrow some from work). It is a 2-part mix, one part is white and the other part is black. Thoroughly mix and it turns grey, then you apply it to your problem area and it takes about 24 hours to really dry. It stays pliable and is PERMANENT. It's also permanently in your clothing. I just repaired a little leak in my left wing tank bottom. AC 43.13 allows for the use of an "approved sealant" as an approved repair for fuel tank leaks. PRC is the industry standard approved sealant and can be applied by any A&P with no 337.
