Hmm. Yes, there was a Grumman Goose, along with a Widgeon, Mallard,
etc. However, given the wave-runner pods and what you're suggesting
in terms of size, I suspect what you encountered was not a Goose, but
rather an Albatross. That's what Jimmy Buffet's 'Hemisphere Dancer' is.
Used mainly for S&R by the USCG, now retired.

If you look in the online version of Trade-a-Plane (highly recommend a
subscription, as it's loaded with useful info) you'll find a couple of
really nice Albatrosses for a lot less money than you'd expect. They
fit things like galleys and bunk-beds nicely.
