This is hardly the same as helmets on motorcyclists. It is more like the people who won't wear a seat belt in a car because they think they can't get it off if they drive into a river, or the people who went nuts about their airbags because they might hurt them. Dumb. It is all a gamble, but some people seem intent on not taking the best odds because something in their brain is stuck on just one little scenario.
