Dwight,

The only printed info I have found on glide ratio is from the Mooney Specs
at
1450 GW. A 415 C at 1260 would be better. How much ???

The specs given on the M-10,, page 424 "The Ercoupe, A Touch of Class" ,
is
6:1.

This means if you are 1 mile above the level ground on a standard day, no
wind, and at gross weight (1450 lbs) , you would expect the M-10 to glide
6
miles before landing. That is if you glide at the best rate. A 415 C
should
do a little better.

If I remember correctly, a Cherokee 140 and a Cessna 172 both have a glide

ratio of about 8.5 : 1.

The Coupe is not a glider, but is very manuverable. Get rid of any excess
weight, (yours or ANY un-needed equipment) :). :) ; and you will GO
FURTHER.

REgards,

Harry Francis
