There was a Cessna 150 stolen from Arlington about 6 months ago in the
wee hours of the morning. The guy made it about 3 miles from the airport and
after having some engine problems (no gas... which is, I suppose technically
"a problem") tried to put it down on Interstate 5. He might have made it, but
hit a very large bundle of power lines then flipped over and slid on it's top
before rolling into a ball. Both airplane and pilot goners. Turns out this
guy had been a student pilot once about 10 years prior. The newspapers
quoted the previous owner of the 150 about how it was a great little
plane... and quoted the history of the guy who stole it as a career criminal
who had stolen airplanes in the past for fun.
