It seems to me that VGs would be a thorny issue on the Coupe. The delicate balances that lead to non-spinnability would probably mean that a LOT of testing would need to happen to see to it that you didn't create an airplane which would develop controllability problems at the lower airpspeeds VGs would allow. Also, the Ercoupe's erfoil is a bit unusual. Again some very specific testing would be required.
