Agreed! VG's are a great way to get more lift but there are some sacrifices, overall speed being one of them. I don't think old Fred would like us to monkey around with his wing without the benefit of a bunch of equipment. If you're still curious, you can check to see if VG's were ever produced for the early Cherokees, and if so, what benefit did they attain.
