The rumors are apparently true. Several years ago,(ten maybe) I regularly skied with Fred Meyers, a cousin to Lance. Fred's father and father's brother ( or was it another uncle--it's a bit hazy now) were partners in the Meyers Aircraft. I remember Fred telling me the story, and it closely resembles the rumor. I remember also that Fred said his father took to converting Grumman Widgeons to "opposed power" after Myers Aircraft fell apart. By the way, the last time I talked to Fred, an accomplished multi-ticketed pilot, he was flying a J-3. Doug
