Anything that disturbes the miserable little rubber tubes will start leaks

after they harden up.  The hardening process can be in one year or I've
seen 
25-years go by.  After they are hard little really can be done except to 
replace them.  It's not a difficult job, and  is one that you can do most
of 
the dirty work with your mechanic looking on to supervise the valve train.

This is a good time depending on time since last cylinder removal to check

push rod clearance while bled down, cam lift and for cracks in the rocker
arm 
webs.  there is an A-D on them for this. 

The boots are not expensive, but do buy them from a high turnover shop not

from old stock or your problem will more quickly return.  I personally
warm 
them to about 130 or so and lube them with DC-4 before putting them on.
You 
can get the proper tool that helps at "sears" among others.   Good luck
this 
should take only minutes to accomplish after all the other stuff is
removed.  
If it's the other end (the top) then you need to have the tube "swedged" 
carefully with the proper tool./tom
