Amen Ron, I and others will try to help as we can but do hesitate because of the lawyer thing to help an unlicensed person do restricted work unsupervised. We do a lot of owner assisted annuals and encourage owners to do as much as they can do to their ability levels. Typically the "not requiring complex dissassembly" level does not come up often on a coupe but replacing "heim-joints" is a complex dissassembly by many standards as control surface deflections are directly affected. Putting it back to where the old one was may not be close enough.Setting cable tensions is complex as the temperature MUST be factored in not just the present room temperature but how long has the plane been at that temperature. If you drag a warm plane, and we're over 100 outside in these days to a 70 degree hangar you can't get proper readings for a few hours til the whole mess or is that Mass is at a
similar temperature. Many of the dozens of mechanics I know also trade help for work so both benfit. So I encourage all to ask the questions but do get the help needed to resolve problems all mechanics are supposed to "get necessary knowledge" before working on any new to them item new or old in nature./tom
