I brought this up once before, but never received a definite answer. My 415 C/D serial # 4169 does not have vented caps on the wing tanks. The two wing tanks are inter-connected and a tee sends fuel from both to the fuel pump through the side panel shut-off valve. Same as most coupes, I believe. But the overflow line comes out of the upper back of the center tank through a
tee down to both wing tanks. The onlyair vent provided to the wing tanks is through the overflow lines to the center tank and out by the cork float wire. My system seems to function perfectly - I never fill the center tank - haven't run the wing tanks completely dry yet! And the wing tanks seem to empty at about the same rate. So why do some have vented wing tank caps? Wayne N3544H
