The nose bowl opening should be connected by scat tubing to your fresh air vent. At one time there should have been a cable connected to the opening in the firewall. Although this will provide fresh air, I have found that the heat buildup on the bottom of the firewall can be excessive in the summer because of the location of the muffler so close to the firewall. ( Especially here in Texas) But, that's part of the reason we fly Coupe's. We can put the top down to cool off and stay in the air. Seriously, you might also check for any open penetrations in the firewall from assorted cables etc. over the years. These can be sealed with silicon sealer and you might be surprised the difference it makes
As for the panel, I recently redid mine with a blank panel from Skyport.
It is a
lot easier than trying to make the old one work. They provide a copy of
the 337
to use for the new panel. Field approval consisted of the IA sending a
copy in
to the FAA and they signed off on it and sent it back. The whole process
was
fairly simple.
Sorry I can't help you with the bellcrank bushings.
