I recently had the same type of leaky fuel tank. My mechanic replaced some rivets around the outlet which were corroded to the point of seeping. He then applied a sealant to the area (I don't know what kind) and the problem is gone - at least for now. I suppose the permanent solution is a complete rebuild or replacement - pretty pricey!!
