Hi Everyone

Although I'm new to the mailing list, I've owned and flown my 1946 C/D
Coupe
for about a year now, N99399.

I'm presently in the middle of my first annual. I've been noticing quite a
fuel odor in the cabin recently, especially after setting for a few days.
As
much as I looked, I couldn't see anything leaking. I took the wing root
fairings off for the annual and discovered that some of the rivets in the
aluminum tanks, especially around the inlet and outlet riveted bosses were
seeping a little bit. Because the main spar passes through the cabin and
is
not particularly well sealed, I believe the fumes are entering there.

Has anyone had this problem? Any advice to cure it short of buying new
fuel
tanks?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  Roger
