Denny--The "eyebrows", or actually, spark plug fairings, are to accommodate shielded spark plugs with their associated wiring. Originally, Coupes came with no radios and used unshielded spark plugs, which are shorter. Some Coupes still are running with unshielded spark plugs, which actually work fine with most modern radios.
