Ron:

1. The route you suggested is about the lowest level to Phoenix you will
find. I certainly would not recommend going over the mountains, especially
in a 75 or even 85 HP Coupe. Be very cautious of density altitude, fly
early
in the morning. The spring is not to bad, but things heat up rather
quickly
in the summer and you probably want to be done flying by 11:00 AM or noon
at
the latest.

2. Taxes in Arizona on airplanes is not to bad. If you already paid sales
tax in another state I believe Arizona will honor that as long as you have
proof. There is no tax on sales between private parties here. Buying it
from
a dealer is a different issue. As to registration and ownership tax, they
are low. I paid $25 last year for my 1961 Forney F-1A!

3. When you get out here, be sure and look up our Arizona Ercoupe Group
(a.k.a Arizona Coupe Group). For information regarding our meetings,
fly-ins, etc, check our web page at: http://home.att.net/~cmckinnie.

If you need any further information you can contact me via e-mail.
