Well in fact I'm stupid because the first question I need to ask is :

        What's big server?

Actually I've many problem because I'm using mbox (historical reason), and
I need to change this to Maildir. In the same time I have more users. But
for me more users is

        ~ 1000 users

but what's large in my administration is the size of Mailbox and the # of
mail. If I want to ««sale»» my solution to the boss I think I need to
present a solution to can handle 1Go mail for every one of users. And 50 %
of my users chekc the mail every 1-2 minutes 24/24 7/7.

In your opinion and experience can I use just one server for this ?

I've make some test (before I'm asking this mailing list) I've create a
mailbox with ~ 30 000 messages (I've one case in my users...). With
Courier-imap & Thunderbird (under FreeBSD 5.4-Stable with 1Go ram and Xeon 2.4
Ghz)
I can't event delete those messages. I can understand this is extreme test.
But I've some extremes users ;-)

Regards.
