Hi,
I am trying to configure VExim 1.5 (with Exim 4.66+Courier-IMAP
4.1.2+Courier-Authlib 0.59.2). The problem is with PoP3 and IMAP. I am able to
deliver messages using the Exim 4.66 but whenever I try to PoP, I get
authentication errors.
When I start the Authdaemon, then I get this error:
lhr# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/courier-authdaemond.sh start
Starting courier_authdaemond.
daemons: not found
I installed everything from Ports and after starting Courier-Authlib,
whenever I try to PoP the server, I get this error in the debug.log:
#less /var/log/debug.log
Apr 18 12:42:54 lhr authdaemond: received auth request, service=pop3,
authtype=login
Apr 18 12:42:54 lhr authdaemond: authmysql: trying this module
Apr 18 12:42:54 lhr authdaemond: authmysql: TEMPFAIL - no more modules will
be tried
Apr 18 12:47:22 lhr pop3d: Connection, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]
In the /var/log/maillog I get this error:
#tail -f /var/log/maillog
Apr 19 16:40:37 lhr authdaemond: failed to connect to mysql server
(server=127.0.0.1., userid=root ..): Access denied for user: 'root [EMAIL
PROTECTED]' (Using password: YES)
Apr 19 16:40:37 lhr pop3d: LOGIN FAILED, [EMAIL PROTECTED],
ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]
Apr 19 16:40:37 lhr pop3d: authentication error: Input/output error
Can anyone stop me from crying :(
