hi, i am using courier for quite some time but only recently started to try using shared folders. the mail server setup is a pure virtual setup (no shell access for anyone), i wanted to have a globally shared folder for all users, all users use the same (non privileged) uid and gid. so i created a directory outside of all user maildirs and followed the procedure to create a globally shared mail folder. all i needed was to use maildirmake with the appropriate parameters and create a global etc/maildirshared file (i did not create an index file or anything else). all users use thunderbird and can see the shared folder and copy messages from/to the folder. problem is: if someone deletes a message (or moves it to another directory), the message vanishes from his thunderbird mail client (or is moved - so far so good), but the actual file remains on the mail server thus creating a increasing number of files in the shared directory "cur" directory. is this behavior by design? i.e. how can i avoid this?
any help is appreciated, using courier-0.55.1.20070504, thanks in advance, alex ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
