The above statement is dangerously untrue. Reiser is still, and probably will alway be, too unstable for long-term storage. Even with recent kernels, I've experienced and know others who have experienced complete & unrecoverable FS meltdowns using it. If you care about your data, don't use ReiserFS. Under certain loads it can offer big performance gains, but also under certain types of loads it can offer performance decreases.
