You mean, why are you getting different answers for the home directory
attribute? No idea - I don't do Windows. Turn on auth debugging again. Maybe
one example is being answered by winbind, and the other by local system
authentication.

I don't think so, unless you modify the source code yourself, or write a
module for authpipe.
