While reading this and nodding vigorously I had another 'idea' (I really
should shut up now but here goes).

What if Courier were to pass on all evil messages to a user specified
exorcism filter? If such a filter doesn't exist then it just carries on as
it does now and spits the message back at the sender.

If however such a filter does exist, the filter takes full responsibility
for the fate of the message. That could involve cleaning it up, delivering
it, bouncing it or whatever. That way Courier remains true to the standard
and by default will be justifiably uncompromising. However, whiners like me
will have the opportunity to rescue the message if at all possible, by
writing our own filter.

Before you criticise someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a
mile away, and you have their shoes too.
