If we knew how to repair it, we would know exactly what your problem is and maybe able to help..

However at a guess, i believe RH 7.1 was the first release where default firewalling is on.

You may wish to look at ipchains. ipchains -L -v will show if firewall rules are on. ipchains -F will remove all firewall rules. There will also be an ipchains init file you may wish to look at..

hopefully you'll get it working and you can move away from aol.

hope this helps

Subject: [courier-users] Question regarding RH Linux 7.1

Hello,
I've just got a quick question before installing "Courier MTA".
I have the problem with Red Hat Linux 7.1 that doesn't allow mail clients logging in from outside the server.  I have found documentation about what to do to repair the problem, but it doesn't tell me how to actually do it.

If I install "Courier" over the original sendmail, will it still have the problem of not allowing outside login?  If so, can someone point me in the direction of some decent docs about how to actually fix the problem?

Thanks,
