I second that, Juha.
I run several Debian based systems in production environment, and it
have Exim installed by default. I have over the time never found a good
reason to use another mta.
Having struggled with uwash imapd for many years, I was very pleased to
find out about courier-imap. With better design and much cleaner
codebase, I took it to my heart ;) The headaches of doing incremental
backup of big mailboxes (I mean BIG) is gone thanks to the use of
maildir. I use reiserfs for mail store to avoid the inode starvation
problem.
By using the builtin support for LDAP in both exim and courier-imap, I
have managed to create a true virtual mail system (no local
configuration change needed). I'm a happy administrator, thank you Sam!
I follow the development of courier-mta closely, and will switch when I
find it better than Exim. I like Sam's coding style, which for me is an
important quality factor.

Regards, Tomas
