Exim has a the same command line parameters as sendmail actually, this is to
keep compatability with sendmail, I find that it is just that Sendmail was
horrible, even our comp sci department has issues with it but want to stick
to it since it is stock Sun software, but Exim has offered alot more,
especially with great anti-spam features, it has too many options.
Exim 4 is supposed to become easier to use. They have put routers and
directors together, anyway it is indeed much easier than Qmail especially if
you have a small site, you can just change a few parameters like hostname
and off you go you are in business. Qmail I don't think so, it was
revolutionary as Sam said, it is now a bunch of patches basically to get it
to work for the application. I hear that Postfix has a good reputation. But
I think that Exim is moving to number one choice of mail server :)
Cheers,
Aly.
