By just you saying this "some day" make me hopeful. While it's not official from Sam or Racke (Debian maintainer) here is an alternative patched package. Only for Debian 3.0 sid "unstable" (i386) http://users.task.com.br/marcus/courier-mta_0.37.0-1.1_i386.deb put the line below in /etc/courier/esmtpd file to accept RFC2045 violations. IGNORE_RFC2045=1 I tested only in my machine!
