Looking at the current sqwebmail, the templates look really superb under
MSIE. Unfortunately, the same is not true under Netscape-Communicator-4.74
and I wonder if there's any way they can be made compatible.
I have experimented a bit with the templates, and there seem to be two main
problems:
(1) Having style="line-height: 0" on tables causes one table to overlap the
previous one, which makes some of the pages pretty much unusable (e.g. you
can't click on the navigation tabs in the middle because they are covered up
by the view below).
Removing this, or setting style="line-height: 1" makes the problem go away.
However then the rounded corners on the boxes do not join up properly, even
under IE. Which takes us to:
(2) The rounded corners don't work under Netscape. They don't join up
properly, and on some screens you get
blue corner - white space - blue rectangle - white space - blue corner.
I did find one other minor problem - a missing non-breaking space on the
login screen - see patch attached.
But has anybody else had a look at problems (1) and (2)? I am not a HTML
expert so I'm not sure what the best fix is. However I have just noticed
that SourceForge's pages have some very nice corner graphics - go to
http://sourceforge.net/search/ and look at the screwheads and brushed
aluminium effect, they look superb under Netscape - so maybe I can steal
some ideas from there...
Cheers,
Brian.
