Greetings.
This message is targeted to the developers of Courier. I opened a bug report on Mozilla 1.0 RC2. Bug #71792. Here is the link: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71792 Essentially, Courier IMAP comes with a default imapd file with MAXPERIP=4 setup. Mozilla tries to open 5 connections and when it fails, Mozilla hangs. That is Mozilla's bug, and they will fix it such that a popup will show if opening the 5th connection fails and explain that they can changed the default value in the UI. Now, in my never ending quest to improve the world, I would like to have an out-of-the-box Mozilla to work with an out-of-the-box Courier to work without anybody having to fiddle with the number of connections. I spent enough time figure things out that I would like to avoid it to others. Thus, either Mozilla comes with a default of 4 connections maximum, or Courier comes with a default 5 connections maximum. I suggested Mozilla developers to lower their number, but they declined the idea. What about Courier developers? Would you ship a default imapd file with MAXPERIP set to 5? What are the implications? Sincerely, Hans Deragon _______________________________________________________________ Don't miss the 2002 Sprint PCS Application Developer's Conference August 25-28 in Las Vegas -- http://devcon.sprintpcs.com/adp/index.cfm _______________________________________________ courier-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/courier-users
