I have a group called vmail and a user called vmail,

vmail:x:1006:1006::/home/vmail:/bin/false

I created the dir /home/vmail/fluxxproductions/blah

then did a

maildirmake /home/vmail/fluxxproductions.com/blah/Maildir

and

chown -R vmail.vmail /home/vmail/fluxxproductions.com/blah

so everything is owned by the right user.
Maybe not. Who owns and what are the permissions on the directory fluxxproductions.com ? Maybe the user vmail is not able to get past it.

I ask because I see you chowned blah, but not the directory above it.

Then in MySQL I set the UID and GID fields to 1006 which is the uid and gid
of the vmail user.

Can anyone see anything wrong with what I have outlined above?

Second question.

I know courier comes with it's own mailing list module, but is it possible
to use mailman with courier?
Yes of course. I used it successfully.

The only reason I ask this, is because many list administrators like the web
interface that mailman offers.

If this is possible can I use the standard sendmail style aliases

test-request: "|/usr/lib/mailman/bin/wrapper command test"
You can't put commands in aliases (different from sendmail). Instead you must create .courier files.

I read the man page for makealiases, but didn't notice much about commands
in aliases.
