Rio,

Here's what I posted to the vpopmail list some time ago:

================================
1. vdominfo not working,
2. vadddomain failing and returning the following error:

 Error: Unable to chdir to vpopmail/domains directory

3. vadduser failing and returning the following error:

 You did not use a full email address for the user name
 Only full email addresses should be used

4. vmkpasswd not rebuilding vpasswd.cdb

It turned out to be some problem with gcc-3.1 (specifically, the Redhat
Rawhide RPM gcc-3.1-7.i386.rpm).

I've gone back to gcc-2.96-110.i386.rpm and all seems back to normal.
================================

To fix your problem, I would suggest upgrading vpopmail to the development
version, currently 5.3.9.

Hmmm, I've just seen that Jussi has the same problems with 5.3.9. Well, I
solved the problem by using the rpm installation of courier-imap. I just
built from the tarball using rpmbuild -ta as described on the courier-imap
web page and I have not had this problem since.

HTH,

R.

> I had the same exact problem. People on the list didn't have any
comments on this subject so this behaviour is propably quite rare. As
far as I can tell, my problems were caused by a bad libvpopmail.a.

if you don't, then drop the "--enable-mysql=y" from vpopmail
configuration and propably the "LDFLAGS" stuff from courier
configuration, too):
