Go ahead and make the change, but I'm pretty confident that it's not going to work with 30 seconds as well. The real problem is still to be identified.

[authlib/authdaemonlib.c] #define TIMEOUT 15 If the web page comes back with the error after 15 seconds rather than 30, then this could be it.
