You either need the vpopmail library in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH, or you need to tell configure not to use it (--without-authvchkpw). If you're not planning on using vpopmail, I'd just turn it off. If you are planning on using it, you can grab the latest dev build (reasonably stable as far as I can see) from http://www.inter7.com/vpopmail/vpopmail-5.3.14.tar.gz. Build it, install it, and use it.
