I have read just about every piece of documentation I can get my hands on regarding installing and configuring courier and none of that mentioned this "feature". I have also read quite a bit about gdbm/db creation and I haven't seen it there either (specifically it's not mentioned in the makedat man which is where it would be useful). Who would be best to report this to?

Was this behavior documented? If not, would be nice to have it
documented, or the utility fixed.
