Hi all.

My authmysql problem still persists, but now I have even more perplexing
issues. POP3 is not working at all.

For the time being I have disabled authmysql to narrow down the problem.
I have a local passwd user, 'ben', who has a valid and user-owned
Maildir in the homedir. When I connect by pop, after authenticating I
get "-ERR Maildir: No such file or directory".

The maildir exists; what's more, I've replaced every occurence of the
string "Maildir" in /etc/courier with "bogusMaildir", hoping to see the
error message change to "-ERR bogusMaildir: No such file or directory",
but it does not. Is the "Maildir" in the error message supposed to be a
pathname (in which case why is courier ignoring my choice of default
maildir), or just a generic phrase indicating it is the maildir (whatever
called) that cannot be found?

This is the only message I receive (by POP3); nothing at all is logged in
the maillog.

I am missing something obvious. What is it?

-ben
