My question was somewhat lacking. I have postgres installed and running most 
if not all of our web apps. I am going to start using it for authentication. 
All the web apps use some form of authentication via a table in postgres. 
Authentication via postgres is supported in courier, nss, pam, samba, etc... 
The only thing I have left is maildrop which I don't believe has support for 
postgres. If you aren't using maildrop then I guess you are using postfix or 
some other mta? Just curious. I guess this has gone off topic.
