Multiple BCC deliveries to one host require an equal number of distinct SMTP sessions, since the BCC recipient is specified via the envelope RCPT TO: and that can only be one address, correct?
Nope. An SMTP session can have multiple RCPT commands. They need not correlate to any header in the DATA, so they might be "to", "cc", or "bcc". The SMTP server receiving the messages doesn't really have to care or know in which header any given rcpt appears or does not appear.
