Hello courier Geeks, Sinc I run Debian/Sarge and can currently not upgrade my Intranet-Server (needs heavy reprogramming) so I have installed a TestSystem for migrating the courier stuff on a reserver machine...
Hardware:
P2/366
512 MByte
ICP GDT 6128RD (RayDyne, Raid-5)
2 x 9 GByte System (1st chanel, Raid-1)
7 x 9 GByte Maildir (2nd chanel, Raid-5, 48 user)
BSIZE=4096, INODES ~ 11.000.000, MESSAGES ~ 8.5 mio
TEAC CD-532S (2rd chanel)
The harddrives (LVD/SE) are NEW and never used
but older then 5 years.
OS: Debian 4.0 Etch
My courier-imap is version 4.1.1.
Now if I connect to the courier server I get on its console:
----8<-----------------------------------------------------------------
__alloc_pagee: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0xf0/0)
__alloc_pagee: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0xf0/0)
__alloc_pagee: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0xf0/0)
__alloc_pagee: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0xf0/0)
__alloc_pagee: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0)
VM: killink process imapd
----8<-----------------------------------------------------------------
Wierd thing, since I get the same error on my AMD Sempron 2200+ (3 Gbyte
memory) running Sarge too.
Where can ths message come from and WHY?
Note 1:
If I want to open a maildfolder using "mutt", I can connect, it read the
mails in, and then I must wait, wait, wait... several minutes and my
harddrives in the Courier-Server are spinning like the hell.
The Load-Average is arround 1.8 to 2,7.
Note 2:
Installing FAM is NO SOLUTION since it increase the Load-Average to over
12 and my System is for hours not more responsive.
Any solutions?
Greetings
Michelle Konzack
