Thanks for that Harry, makes sense what you say. Got an excellent email offlist detailing how to use bogofilter and spamassassin with maildrop. The nice thing with mailscanner though is the ability to use the blacklists as part of the spam scoring system, along with spamassassin, and along with bogofilter etc etc, so that you combine them all into a single spam score. This approach prevents mail being blocked outright because someone blacklists a major ISP due to one rogue customer.
