Tony has reported some issues using 4.3.0 on FC6 so I don't think it's just
you or a x86_64 specific issue.  I've had no issues on RHEL5 though which is
based off of FC6 so I'm not sure where the problem lies.  My only
recommendation, and I realize this isn't always possible, is to move to
CentOS5.  It will be supported for much longer (FC6 is already obsoleted I
believe...)
