That's what I was thinking of (on-demand-update, before
sending out the ticket mail).
After all it can easilly be implemented via a simple socket script
listening over inetd, or by using ssh...

I don't see how that's going to be more complicated than
breaking out of the dotcourier-maildrop jail.. ;)

Of course the cleanest way would be to use a database.
Courier is one of the easiest mtas to setup
with databases (in Michelle's case: authpgsql), and this
solution doesn't require any quirks, breakouts, or whatever..
