Hello all!
I have found that my installation of Courier will not deliver mail to MTAs
that cannot be Pinged by normal means.
I have a user whom is trying to send mail out to people, however a portion
of the mail he sends get bounced.
Using the domains from the messages, I have verified that this problem
exists by doing the following:
1) I used NSLOOKUP to identify the proper MX server for one of the users
bounced messages.
2) I attempred to ping the mailserver, no answer.
3) I Telnet over to the mailservers port 25, and sure enough I can connect
and receive the 250-greeting headers.
This is becoming a problem as more mail servers are refusing to accept PING
requests: I even have our MX hidden in this fashion.
I cannot seem to find any setting anywhere to change this behavior.
Assistance would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.
