Thanks :)

Hmm, interesting. I haven't come across this situation before.

$ cat /etc/courier/defaultdomain
shelleysoldbox

$ cat /etc/courier/me
cat: /etc/courier/me: No such file or directory

$ hostname
shelleysoldbox

I think that's what's happening: the email appears to be coming from
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks. I think you're probably right about this.

So far, I've tried editing /etc/hostname to read,
'shelleysoldbox.mydomain.dyndns.org', restarting
/etc/init.d/hostname.sh and /etc/init.d/courier-mta . I'm still having
the same problem as before, and from the logs, it looks like Courier
is still trying to send the mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED] rather than
[EMAIL PROTECTED] so I guess I'll have to do some
further configuration to get things working.

The weird thing is, with the other Ubuntu server I have, none of this
has been a problem. It seems to be fine sending email without a FQDN.

All further suggestions still very much welcome!

Thanks again,

Sam
