Dear List,

We are in the process of setting up a mailing system using postfix,
courier-imap/pop3. The OS is RHEL5.4 (64 bit). The authentication is being
done using Windows 2008 Active Directory. The system is working fine. The
versions of courier packages being used are

courier-authlib-devel-0.63.0-1.el5.mf
courier-imap-4.8.0-1.el5.mf
courier-authlib-0.63.0-1.el5.mf
courier-authlib-ldap-0.63.0-1.el5.mf

We have a requirement to allow users from the Internet to access their
mailboxes from the mail server that is located in the Militarized Zone. We
have a mail gateway box running in the DMZ. We are planning to use the proxy
feature of courier-imap to allow access to the mailboxes from the Internet.
The document says that we need to use the LDAP_AUXOPTIONS in the authldaprc
so that the content of the attribute “mailhost” would give the exact name of
the server that holds the mailboxes. This would mean that we have to modify
the schema of the Microsoft AD so that the attribute mailhost is available.
In our case, the mail boxes are located at a particular machine for all the
users. So, is there a way to define a fixed server name for the location of
the mail boxes (rather than defining the name on a per user basis) and avoid
the modification of the schema of the Active Directory?

With regards,

Goutam
