In that case we would go ahead with modification of the schema of the
Microsoft AD. Any clue regarding the format of the attribute that needs to
be created?

I can't think of any possible format other than a hostname. Because that's what it is. A hostname. There aren't that many different ways to represent it.

            The name of the attribute to be created should be mailhost? I
could not find any details regarding this in the document and the net.

The documentation is in the authldaprc configuration file itself, the LDAP_AUXOPTIONS setting.
