Hello,

I tried to install a Courier-IMAP-Proxy which require of course its own
authentication because PAM does not more work.

I want to install on my Gateway-Router the Courier-IMAP-Proxy and then in the
internal network two intranet servers for two different Workgroups. The
PostgreSQL database is on a seperated server.

I was searching/reading the courier archive and Google forward and backaward
but have not found a soulution

Can someone provide a working scheme please?
I have no clue, how to start with PostgreSQL as authentification server.

One step at a time.

First, set up the server to use Postgres. This involves nothing more than creating a table, populating its field, then defining the table's fields in authpgsqlrc.

Once you have the server working using an ordinary, no-frills configuration, using the server in proxy mode becomes nothing more than adding one or two fields to the table, and making a few additional settings in authpgsqlrc.

Two small steps are a lot easier than one big step.
