I know that our surge had no correlation to events, press, or anything. My intuition tells me that it's something like the "I'm going to go the gym" resolution. Many people use the new year to start new things they wanted to but never could get around to. Much like gyms experience large new member sign ups after the new year, Coworking acts as a "Gym for Independent Workers" and has the same effect.
