I'm a Drupal fanboy, so I'll point you at OpenAtrium. It's sort of
like BaseCamp (intended for project management), but it has "features"
you can turn on and off. The whole site is group-based, so you would
create a group called "Members" or something similar.
http://openatrium.com/
You need your own web hosting with PHP and MySQL database (standard
LAMP stack).
Each group has the following features you can turn on and off:
Dashboard (heads-up of recent activity, comments, new posts)
Documents (wiki)
Case Tracker (Project / To-Dos / Ticket Tracking)
Calendar
Blog
Shoutbox (think internal Twitter)
...and a marketplace of downloadable Features created by the community
(pretty common is photo uploads)
All the text accepts Markdown formatting by default, and permissions
to group pages and Features can be controlled granularly (Public,
Private, Invite-only). You can attach uploaded files to any page
(Documents, Cases, Blog posts, etc).
You can also set up email notifications to go out to members when an
update or comment is made. This makes Atrium a good platform for
collaboration - the discussion "sticks" to the site, instead of
migrating to email - as long as you train people to use it like that.
Peace,
Ryan Price

Seriously folks, surely someone has feedback on how to organize and
share internal info for members? :)

Citizen Space is revising how it organizes & shares "how to" and
other
internal info for its members. (For example, ssid passwords, how
members can hold an event in the space, how to print, good places to
park, etc.)
Any suggestions? internal wiki? Something else?
