Colo, I hate to say this but it all depends on how your memberships are/will be structured. I have 12 workstations in the main room (the most popular),11 non-trad desk spaces sprinkled around and a lounge that would seat 4 people working on their laps or the coffee table. Our total square footage is 1,100 ft2 which puts Cohere as the tiniest coworking facility that I've heard of. People don't mind being crammed together so if we were getting crazy, we'd have 25-30 people here if we took over the conference room. My plan is to cap out at 40-45 total members but I have 5 different levels of memberships that you can review here: http://coherecommunity.com/membership Caps are set at are 4 Neighbors, 4 Nomads, 4 Wayfarers, 15-20 Night Owls and 10 Explorers.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any "average" for the business but if you've got good instincts...trust those.
