His cancelled membership may be a net gain for you.

The impact one person's negative energy has on a whole space is remarkable;
just one toxic presence repels countless would-be coworkers who might
otherwise have signed up.

Whenever I encounter such a situation, I take it as a sign that our process
of onboarding new members needs to be improved. If I'm doing my job
perfectly right, it should be nearly impossible for someone to disrespect
the community-- even while remaining open to drop-ins.
