Hi we started a coworking space while working full-time as software consultants in our own company. So we are flexible with our time as only the output has to be right. It all began with a free desk and became a 200 sqm space. We not earn any significant money from the space but it pay itself and its great to have community around and its certainly a big benefit for our company as we find contractors and customers within / through our coworkers. Coworking and consulting became even more interwoven when we started with our coworking management software, that we build to free us of some mundane task so that we could care better for our coworkers and customers. It took us 3 years to get the space we are now (around 25 coworkers plus some on the waitinglist), so it probably took longer but we now have a space with good reputation that can easily exist next to the BetaHaus in Berlin and we have a well know and respected consultancy. Until recently we ran the space without additional help. I always recommend small businesses to consider running a small coworking on the side if they have some free resources in their office. It worked out great for us.
